Amid the RIMS authority's alleged failure to meet the agreed terms of the MoU signed among the ATSUM, RIMS, and the state government pertaining to RIMS recruitment process, the ATSUM on Tuesday decided to go ahead with its strike from April 24.

“As the tripartite agreement was violated, we are compelled to resume our strike from April 24 by imposing a 12-hour total shutdown in all the hill districts from 6 am to 6 pm,” said ATSUM publicity secretary Khaiminlen Doungel while speaking to the media at its office in Imphal.

He said that RIMS has failed to provide a fresh declaration of LDC appointment results with reservations as SC (39 per cent), ST (34 per cent) and OBC (13 per  cent) within one week time as signed in the agreement on April 3.

Meanwhile, ATSUM received information that a backdoor appointment of 15 posts of LDC in RIMS without proper reservation norms was confirmed with the appointment order of each candidate being made available in black and white paper, he claimed.

“We find that the RIMS’s negligence has gone too far. Therefore, we are constrained to resume the strike,” he said. ATSUM demands befitting action against the erring RIMS Authority, and the implementation of the agreed terms of the agreement signed between RIMS, ATSUM, and state government, he continued. It also demands nullification of the same backdoor appointment of 15 posts of LDC, he added.
