Two active cadres of non-SoO Kuki militant outfit, Kuki National Front-Nehlun (KNF-N) were apprehended by security forces at Charhajare village under Gamnom-Saparmeina Police Station in Kangpokpi district on Sunday.
Based on a tip-off about extortion taking place by the suspected KNF-N cadres at Charhajare village, a column of A Coy, 22 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 22 Sector IGAR(E) launched an operation at the village by cordoning the area.

The security forces apprehend the two suspected cadres at the nearby community hall of Charhajare market at around 7 pm.
On questioning, the duo identified as Lunminthang Dimngel ,18, son of (L) Paohen Dimngel of Leimakhong bazaar NC Phai village, and Limgouthang Dimngel, 24, son of Songsat Dimngel of Saijang village in Saikul confessed to be working as active cadres of KNF-N outfit.

One pistol along with one magazine, five live rounds, and one Honda scooty were seized from their possession.
Both the individuals and seized items were handed over to Gamnom Saparmeina Police Station while an FIR has been taken up for further investigation.
