Lamsang Police Station on Wednesday stated that bones suspected to be human skeletons were found among the garbage dumped at the Solid Waste Management Plant, Lamdeng on June 5.
A statement issued by the office-in-charge of Lamsang Police Station said that they received information of finding the suspected human skeletons at around 3.45 pm of June 5.
The exact time and the date of dumping are not known; however, it might have taken place within seven days from the date of reporting, it stated.
An Unnatural Death Case No. 2/LSG-PS/2022 U/S 174 CrPc dated June 5 has been registered for investigation while inquest over the human skeleton was conducted in presence of Mobile Forensic Unit, Imphal, it mentioned.
It stated that the post-mortem was done on June 10 and the human skeleton has been kept at the RIMS Morgue.
The identity of the human skeleton could not be ascertained till date, and they will be disposed of after duly observing legal formalities if no one turns up with information leading to identification till 5 pm of June 24, it added.
