The Hill Tribal Council (HTC), Moreh on Friday sought the attention of the state government to release funds in connection with the functioning and implementation of MGNREGS in respect of Moreh block to cover 100-man days this fiscal. The HTC urged the department concerned to ensure successful implementation of the scheme.
A joint meeting of the Hill Tribal Council with its 13 units and the department team led by BDO Tengnoupal district Surchandra was held on Thursday at the office of the HTC, in regards to the various shortcomings in the functioning and implementation of MGNREGS, a release stated.

The department clarified the details of the lapses such as material components, wages component, number of days covered for the year 2020- 2021, and remitted amount in the account not received by many job-card holders, it mentioned.
Regarding the remitted amount in the account not received by job-card holders, the department assured that they will rectify the problems after the due complaint is received from the beneficiaries through their unit leaders, it added.
