MCDA appeals for reopening of pharmacies in Manipur

The Manipur Chemist and Druggists Association urged the security forces of the state to allow pharmacies to be opened and function smoothly.

Amid the prevailing tense situation in violence-hit Manipur, the Manipur Chemist and Druggists Association (MCDA) has appealed to all the pharmacies, wholesalers and retailers to reopen from Monday onwards to aid the people affected by the ongoing civil unrest in the state.

The MCDA , in a release, appealed to pharmacies, wholesalers and retailers in the state to reopen their shops from Monday onwards and to keep their respective ID cards issued by MCDA in their possession at all time.

The MCDA also urged the security forces of the state to allow pharmacies to be opened and function smoothly.

It stated that if the ongoing civil unrest in the state persisted the lifesaving drugs and other pharmaceutical supplies of the state might be over in around 10 days, urging the state government to provide a safe transport such items to the state to meet the demand.
