Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) authorities along with the members of the local clubs on Saturday held a meeting in an effort to maintain peace in the vicinity and condemned the act of disturbance in JNIMS hostels on Friday.
The meeting, held by JNIMS director L Deven and superintendent Kh Lokeshore along with the members of the Citizen Club, Coordinating Body Khurai and volunteers of JNIMS Relief Committee, condemned the act of disturbance of peace in the girls and boys hostel of JNIMS by unknown miscreants, stated a release.
The meeting condemned the act of unknown miscreants repeatedly disturbing and creating fear among the MBBS and PG students staying in the hostel, it stated.
It maintained that the local clubs and meira paibis were also made aware of such incident to prevent such acts.
The volunteers of Citizen Clubs and JNIMS Relief Committee also agreed to stand guard in front of JNIMS gate to prevent such incident from happening in the future, it mentioned.
Pointing out that even during the world wars, the hatred and violence of war never reached hospitals, the meeting warned that such acts that disturb peace should never occur in a hospital campus.
