Committee for Peace and Social Harmony HO member P Somendro reminisced about the bravery of the ancestors against the Burmese invasion and accused the contemporary leaders of the state of being power-hungry cowards "who cower at their seats even when militants have taken over various regions of the state including Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Moreh, Serou and Phayeng."

If the problem of the displaced victims cannot be solved, the displaced victims should be accommodated at the residences of the leaders of the state including the CM and MLAs, he said.

He urged the state and union government to take up concrete steps against the SoO militants who are wreaking havoc on innocent civilians. Reaffirming the people’s stance against the threat to the territorial integrity of Manipur, he added that the people of Manipur will defend the unity and integrity of Manipur till their last breath.
