Miscreants lobbed a bomb into the residence of Directorate of Settlement and Land Record (DSLR) director Pangeijam Gojendro at Khabam Maning Leikai under Heingang Police Station in Imphal East on Sunday, sources said.
The sources said a hand grenade exploded near the toilet located at the backside of Gojendro’s house at around 9.45 pm. There were no casualties, but the impact of the blast caused damage to a washing machine and a plastic water tank, they said.
According to police, the bomb was a Chinese made hand grenade. Gojendro’s department had received monetary demand from a UG group, as per a reliable source.
In connection with the bomb attack, Heingang Police Station has registered a case. As per the sources, Gojendro is also working at the Anti-Corruption Cell as well as at RDPR.
Recently, an IED exploded at the gate of state agriculture director's house at Tera Sapam Leirak Nongmaithem Leikai under Lamphel Police Station in Imphal West at around 9.18 pm on June 24.
