The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) on Tuesday along with other valley based CSOs met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and disclosed that the home minister had assured to protect the territorial integrity of Manipur.

“He assured that not an inch of Manipur’s territorial integrity would be compromised,” the committee added.

Shah also discarded the "separate administration" demand of the 10 Kuki MLAs and had advised the people to maintain peace in the state.

Speaking to mediapersons at COCOMI office, Imphal, COCOMI media coordinator Somendro Thokchom highlighted that the home minister did not entertain the idea of removing certain Central forces, specifically the Assam Rifles and had appealed to people to bestow trust in them.
