The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) on Saturday warned of launching various intense agitations if the Central and state government fail to withdraw SoO truce with Kuki Militants without further delay and also demanded the government to set a date for the same.

COMOCI, in a release, lamented that innocent civilians especially in the far-flung areas are trapped in relentless terror attacks from armed Kuki militants and asserted that although the Central and state governments are aware of the situation, they have allegedly failed to devise an effective strategy to prevent recurrence of the attacks or ensure safety of the people.

It urged the government to announce a resolution for urgent steps taken to solve the conflict and ensure safety of the civilians and the affected victims. It further demanded sending a team of well-equipped state force battalion and commando platoon 5-10 at Moreh so as to control the situation and shift those displaced to their respective places.

The committee also condemned the attempt of three personnel of Rapid Action Force to burn down a shop at Dimdailong in Imphal amid the prevailing mayhem and appealed to the authorities concerned to look into such misconduct.

It further appealed to the government to stop seizure of licenced guns from civilians who are using it to defend themselves from perceived threats from the armed Kuki militants.
