The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) on Monday dubbed the present aggression as an act of narco-terrorist and called on the Centre and state governments to jointly take necessary and immediate action to combat it.
According to the civil society organisation, the present situation is an outcome of the activities carried out by the narco-terrorist.
Briefing the media on Monday, COCOMI welcomed Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the state and seized the opportunity to urge the union minister to declare Kuki militants as terrorists and take decisive action against them.
COCOMI executive member Khuraijam Athouba expressed their long-standing anticipation for the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Manipur, ever since the eruption of the present tension. The people of Manipur have high hopes for his visit and expect significant outcomes, he stated.

“We have also come out with four-point demands which will be put forward to the home minister. One very important point is that, the people of Manipur will not be able to come to any kind of solution until and unless the state and the Central government take up immediate action to wipe out and uproot the narco-terrorist aggressor, those terrorists who are still sitting in the hill tracts surrounding Manipur valley,” Athouba said.
Highlighting the evolving nature of the crisis, Athouba noted that while it was initially perceived as a communal clash, the events that unfolded since May 3 have clearly indicated that the actual aggression is being carried out by armed individuals who target innocent civilians, posing a threat to the state’s integrity and security.
“We appeal with the arrival of the home minister that the government of India must also take its position on declaring all those narco-terrorists, aggressor as terrorists act," Athouba said.
