83 polling stations in four districts of Manipur to have airlifting facility

An air ambulance will be deployed in those polling stations to airlift any person, in case of any emergency or casualties, the CEO said.

The Election Commission has decided to arrange airlifting plan for 83 polling stations in four districts of Manipur, in case of any emergency, CEO Manipur Rajesh Agrawal said on Thursday.

As many as 30 polling stations in Churachandpur, 20 in Chandel, 16 in Ukhrul and 17 in Tamenglong have been selected for the airlifting facility, Agrawal said.

"In case of any emergency, the Presiding Officers along with EVM/VVPAT machines will be airlifted from such identified polling stations," he said.

The CEO also said that an air ambulance will be deployed in those polling stations to airlift any person, in case of any emergency or casualties.
