In a first in Odisha and a second reported worldwide, AIIMS Bhubaneswar has conducted Quadruple Joint Replacement Surgery successfully in a crippled patient.
AIIMS Bhubaneswar made the announcement in a tweet: "AIIMSBhubaneswr conducts successful Quadruple Joint Replacement Surgery in a crippled patient. First of its kind in Odisha,Second Case reported Globally Executive Director Dr. Ashutosh Biswas congratulated the team for the surgery".
Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya also congratulated the team for the "remarkable feat".
"Adding another feather to its cap, @AIIMSBhubaneswr has conducted successful Quadruple Joint replacement surgery on a crippled patient free of cost. First of its kind in Odisha, the second case reported globally. Congratulations to the team of doctors for this remarkable feat," the Health minister tweeted.
Lauding the doctors involved in the achievement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi complimented them for being at the forefront of innovation and embracing new changes.
“Compliments to our doctors for always being at the forefront of innovation and embracing new changes in the medical world. Their dexterity makes us proud!” Modi tweeted.
