Jiri Development Organisation (JDO) Barak Circle on Monday demanded immediate attention of authorities concerned to the deteriorated condition of Borobekra Higher Secondary School, Borobekra Sub-Division, Jiribam, and warned to shut the school down if their demands are ignored.
A team of JDO Barak Circle led by the president of the organisation Heisnam Premchand conducted an inspection drive at the Borobekra Higher Secondary School at Borobekra Sub-Division in Jiribam district.

Speaking at the event, Heisnam Premchand said that the school is functioning without a principal or any in-charge. He mentioned that the school is also short on teaching staff. He added that the available staff are facing difficulties concerning their salaries distribution owing to the absence of a proper authority in-charge.

Premchand informed that ever since the building of the Borobekra Primary School collapsed, the school had been accommodating all the academic activities of both schools with their limited facilities.
He urged the authorities concerned to provide the school with the necessary facilities by August 30. He further cautioned that the school will be shut down from September 1, if the authorities ignore their demands. “The shutdown will affect both the schools since the Borobekra Primary School Building has been attached with the Borobekra Higher Secondary School,” he said.
