Seven from Manipur selected for international bodybuilding championships

The seven body builders from Manipur, who made it to the Indian team for the international championships include Zenika Naorem and Solimla Jajo.

The All Manipur Body Builders Association (AMBBA) on Tuesday accorded a warm welcome to seven players of the state who have been selected to the Indian team for various international bodybuilding championships slated to be held this year.

The selected players were received at the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, Imphal, a release stated, adding that the India Trial Selection was held in Goa on Sunday.

The seven players who made it to the Indian team are Zenika Naorem and Solimla Jajo, both in Junior Women’s Model Physique (Open), Thingujam Ritesh in Junior Men’s BodyBuilding (75 Kg), Neta Laishram in Senior Men’s Body Building (55 Kg), RK Sanathoi in Senior Men’s BodyBuilding (70 Kg), Warshim Chaisem in Men’s Fitness Physique (Open) and Konsam Sanamacha in Men’s Athletic Physique (Open), it stated.

They will participate in the upcoming international bodybuilding championships, namely the 13th South Asia Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship - 2023 slated to be held in Maldives from July 10 to 17; the 55th Asia Bodybuilding and Physique Championships - 2023 to be held in Nepal from September 1 till 7 and the 14th World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship 2023 scheduled to be held in South Korea from November 6 till 12, it stated.
