WAMA questions delay in recognition of Meiteilon as classical language

WAMA questioned whether the authorities concerned are delaying the process on purpose despite efforts of WAMA, the people and Rajya Sabha MP Manipuri King Leisemba Sanajaoba to develop the Meiteilon language.

The Wakhallon Mannaba Apunba (WAMA), Kangleipak on Friday appealed to the authorities concerned to complete the file concerning the recognition of Meiteilon as a classical language within 10 days.

A release by WAMA publicity secretary N Debeshwor Meetei appealed to the authorities concerned to complete the files regarding the recognition of the Meiteilon as one of the classical languages of India within 10 days, cautioning drastic measures if their demand is not met.

WAMA warned that if the authorities concerned do not complete the file within 10 days WAMA with the help of the people will commence an inquiry regarding the pending of the file at the secretariat and take up actions against the culprits involved.
