Senapati gets Legal Aid Clinic

A one-day awareness programme was also held at the newly inaugurated Legal Aid Clinic

A legal aid clinic at Maram, Senapati district was inaugurated by District and Session Judge, N Keertichand Singh in the presence of public prosecutor Koshia Mao along with secretary of DLSA Senapati, Margareth on Saturday.

The inauguration was held with a brief speech on the importance of legal aid clinics and awareness of legal issues, a release stated.

In connection with the inaugural of Legal Aid Clinic, a one-day awareness programme was also held at the newly inaugurated Legal Aid Clinic, it mentioned.

During the event, Koshia Mao raised awareness on the requirement of legal aid to the weaker section of society, especially to the SC and STs which face challenges due to ignorance of law in the present day, it stated.

DLSA secretary Margareth put emphasis on the role of legal aid in providing free legal aid services for those who are unable to hire or engage lawyers. They may avail the service of providing free legal retainer lawyers, she said. She said the legal clinic at Maram will assist all the citizens.
