The JAC that was formed following the killing of two persons at Samurou, has called a total shutdown of Mayai Lambi (Imphal-Mayang Imphal road) from 6 am till 5pm of January 16.
The total shutdown was called after giving relaxation of two days in connection with the Imoinu and Gaan Ngai festival, said convenor of the JAC Yanglem Rabi on Saturday.
To track down the whereabouts of the culprit(s) involved in the killing, the JAC had given an ultimatum till January 16 to the state government, he further said. He expressed hope that the government will give a positive response.

Essential services, education and matters related to religious ceremonies will be exempted from the proposed shutdown, he added.
A BJP worker and an IRB personnel were shot dead by miscreants at Samurou, Imphal West on January 9.
After the incident, locals of Samurou have been taking up different forms of agitations, demanding arrest of the culprits and justice to the victims.
