RPF-PLA cadres arrested in Imphal West

Arrested cadres revealed extortion of huge amounts of money from general public.

A team of district commando, Imphal West on Thursday arrested two active members of proscribed outfit RPF-PLA.

The arrested persons have been identified as one Laishram Imocha alias Ibungochouba Singh, 55, son of (L) L Pushkor Singh of Singjamei Thongam Leikai, Imphal West district and Sanasam Iboyaima alias Boyai alias Lambi, 50, son of S Irabanta Singh of Singjamei Okram Leikai, Imphal West district.

A police report stated that from the disclosure of Imocha it is learnt that he is an active member of the proscribed underground outfit and has been working for the said outfit since 2010 through one (L) Oman and presently working under the command of self-style captain of the same outfit, Imosh alias Bullu of Thongju Pheija Leitong, Imphal West, who is presently staying in Myanmar.

He further disclosed that he along with one of his associates Iboyaima had extorted huge amounts of money from general public on the instruction of his commander.

The commando team immediately rushed to the residence of Iboyaima and apprehend him at around 1:00 pm. On questioning he disclosed that he is also an active member of RPF/PLA organisation and started working since 2001 through one (L) MR Momon of Bashikhong, Imphal East district and presently working under the command of Imosh. He also disclosed the he along with Imocha extorted money from Gas Agencies, Transport Bus Association, etc.

Further, they disclosed that they were assigned the duty to distribute money for maintenance of their cadres’ families of the same outfit from the extorted money by their commander Imosh.

Four mobile phones, a white Honda Activa used in extortion matters and a wallet containing Rs 5,140 along with one aadhaar card and voter card were seized from their possession.

Both the persons were arrested and handed over to Singjamei police station along with the seizures for further action.
