PMGSY Fund Misappropriation: MLA Joykisan writes to PAC

Kh Joykisan said he has submitted a written application to the PAC to find out facts about any misuse of funds of PMGSY work as alleged by Manipur Congress president K Meghachandra.

MLA Kh Joykisan on Saturday said that as a member of the Public Account Committee (PAC), he has submitted a written application to the PAC to find out facts about any misuse of funds of PMGSY work as alleged by president of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC).

Addressing the media at his residence at Thangmeiband, Joykisan said that he is a member of PAC where MPCC president K Meghachandra, is the chairman. He said Meghachandra had alleged that a sum of Rs 300 crore has been misused in PMGSY work whereas RD and PR Minister Y Khemchand clarified that there is no misuse of funds and that the construction of roads under PMGSY has been continuing smoothly.

Regarding the issue and to find out the fact, Joykisan said that he has submitted an application to the PAC as in the law of land the culprit must be punished. 

Moreover, as per reports in local vernacular papers, Meghachandra stated that ever since MLA Joykisan joined the BJP party, he has become silent regarding the ghost contractor issue of IMC, the MLA said. 

The government is still continuing its investigation regarding the ghost contractor of IMC issue and in connection with which, GG Rongmei has been sent to jail and four engineers had been terminated and one engineer was suspended, the MLA said.

He also said that to find out the real fact of the issue, a committee headed by three engineers including one from IMC, one engineer not less than the rank of an executive engineer and one engineer from the side of GG Rongmei will be reinvestigating the matter. Necessary action will be taken under the law of land as per findings of the investigation, he added. 

He further said he will be still pressing the government in order to find out the fact regarding the misuse of funds of IMC.
