Opposition parties allege Manipur government of trying to disturb Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra

Disturbing the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra by the BJP-led Manipur government is extremely unfortunate. The yatra is not connected with party politics but rather a movement to deliver justice for the people across the country, JD(U) spokesperson Nimaichand Luwang said.

JD(U) spokesperson Nimaichand Luwang on Friday said that the 10 Opposition political parties of Manipur strongly condemn those who are disturbing the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra to be launched from Manipur and “it is highly unfortunate that the BJP-led Manipur government is trying to disturb the Yatra.”

Luwang told the media at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul, Imphal that the movement of Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi was a successful movement. In continuation of the movement and to get justice Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is to be organised. Disturbing the yatra is highly condemnable, he added.

Disturbing the yatra by the BJP-led Manipur government is extremely unfortunate, he further said, adding, the yatra is not connected with party politics but rather a movement to deliver justice for the people across the country.

He asserted that the yatra is a big opportunity for Manipur to highlight the present unrest and issues faced by the people during the unrest. The 10 Opposition political parties wholeheartedly support the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and representatives of the respective parties will be attending the yatra, he added.

He further said the yatra is not a political venture but a venture to unite India and various communities.

The 10 Opposition political parties condoled the Haotak incident where three persons, including the father-son duo were found dead, out of which four persons went missing, said Luwang.

He alleged that due to the failure of the state government such incidents are occurring in peripheral areas of Manipur. On the contrary, the state government has been stating that peace has started to restore in Manipur, he added.
