The mother of a young kidney failure patient from Tentha Khunou in Thoubal district has pleaded people for kind support for the kidney transplant and treatment of her son.
Twenty-three-year-old Maibam Shyamkumar, son of Kunjo from Tentha Khunou, has been battling with failure of both his kidneys. Lack of money and resources has left Shyamkumar’s mother with no alternative other than hopes and prayers, said family sources.
According to the sources, Shyamkumar is the second child of the four children of Kunjo and Sanahal and he was the sole provider of his family as a daily wage earner before he was bedridden.
Shyamkumar was diagnosed with kidney failure when he was hospitalised at RIMS about a month ago, the sources said.
“He had undergone dialysis five times at RIMS, once at Shija Hospital and once at Raj Medicity using the PM Ayushman Bharat card. As per the advice of the doctors, Shyamkumar had been waiting for kidney transplant from her mother, but the family had not been able to provide the money required for the surgery,” it added.
Shyamkumar’s mother, Sanahal pleaded for help and support from the people for the treatment of her son.
Tentha Khongbal Development Association president Premjeet Akoijam said the local club and the meira paibi have been chipping in a few amounts to help in Shyamkumar's treatment. He appealed to the people of the state to extend their support to the family.
