Janghemlung Panmei, MLA Tamenglong assembly constituency, on Saturday announced that all town ring roads have been completed in the government records, and the state government has sanctioned a sum of Rs 2 crore for maintenance of roads in Tamenglong district.
He was addressing the media at Tamenglong Ward No 1 Utopia during his visit at his hometown on Saturday.
The bazaar roads will be black topped as promised earlier and the tender process is underway, he said, adding that the black topping of bazaar roads will begin when the working season starts.

People of Tamenglong need to wake up now for development, he said.
Appealing to all the sections of the societies to extend full support and cooperation when the work begins, he said that the work quality maintained by Shevalaya Construction Private Limited and Hindustan Construction company private Limited is being monitored. The two companies agreed to extend their works within Tamenglong bazaar, he said.
Panmei informed that another three crore has been sanctioned to construct the mini Secretariate road from Council Junction Tamenglong towards the office complex. Once the rainy season stops, more development works will be seen, he said.
Construction of FCI godown at Old Tamenglong is almost completed, he said. Soon, Tamenglong district will have 500 metric tons of food grains and there will be no shortages of rice in the district, he said.
The state government under the able leadership of N Biren Singh has approved the setting up of industrial estates where unemployed youths can be trained to improve the economy of their family.
Concerning the incomplete construction of the polytechnic institute at Chiuluan Khongjaron and nursing institute, he said that he had appealed to the contractors to speed up the works and the construction works are in progress now.
