Mass cycle rally against drugs menace in Churachandpur

A rally was observed to raise awareness about the impact and negative consequences of drugs on society, with the theme, “addressing the Drug Challenges in Health and Humanitarian Crises.”.

A mass cycle rally was taken out in Churachandpur on Sunday on the occasion of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2022.

The rally was observed to raise awareness about the impact and negative consequences of drugs on society, with the theme, “addressing the Drug Challenges in Health and Humanitarian Crises.”. 

The rally was organised by the Joint Committee on Anti-Drugs Churachandpur in Collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Churachandpur, District Police Churachandpur and KSO Churachandpur.

The rally was flagged off by the deputy commissioner Sharath Chandra Arroju early in the morning, in the presence of SP Churachandpur Shivanand Surve from Peace Ground, Tuibong and culminated at the same ground via Nehru Marg Junction-IB Road-Tipaimukh NH.

Free T Shirts were distributed to all participants who held placards that read ‘No to drugs, Yes to Life’, ‘Drugs are a death trap, get high on grades not on drugs’ etc.  

KSO Churachandpur had formed the Joint Committee on Anti-Drugs, Churachandpur with like-minded CSOs and tribe-based organisations of the district to deal with the increase in the number of youths indulging in illicit drugs.
