Manipur Unrest: Protest rally held in Thoubal district

People’s Action Committee, Khangabok demanded to repeal the SoO agreement between India government and Kuki militants at the earliest to bring back peace and normalcy in Manipur.

People of Khangabok in Thoubal district carried out a mass protest rally on Friday demanding to save the integrity of Manipur and to withdraw the AR personnels deployed in the state.

The rally, organised by the People’s Action Committee, Khangabok, started from Khangabok part iii and went till DC office complex where selected members of the committee submitted a memorandum copy to the chief minister through DC Thoubal A. Subash.

The memorandum demanded to repeal the SoO agreement between India government and Kuki militants at the earliest to bring back peace and normalcy in the state.

It also alleged that the Central paramilitary forces, especially Assam Rifles, deployed in the state to tame the clash have been showing partiality towards the people of the state. It also demanded to take out the Assam rifles personnels deployed in the remote areas of Thoubal district and to deploy state forces instead.

The memorandum also demanded to change the current DGP of Manipur and also urged the MLAs of Thoubal district to announce their stand on the prevailing clash.
