The Meitei Lanmee, Jiribam Unit on Saturday announced a 24-hour total shutdown in the Jiribam district, in condemnation against the unwarranted aggression of Kuki narco-terrorists in the Jiribam area, after the reported abduction and beheading of S Saratkumar earlier on Thursday.

After the declaration of Lok Sabha poll results, the Kuki narco-terrorists have resumed the ethnic cleansing of Meiteis in Manipur, stated a release. The Kuki militants started torching the Meitei villages in and around Jiribam district, forcing the Meiteis to flee from their villages, it stated.

It further said that the Kuki mobs led by the armed Kuki militants have not only torched the villages but also burned down the temples and shrines. In a well-planned and coordinated manner, Manipur Police Outposts in Jiribam were also attacked by Kuki militants who came in boats on Barak River, it added.

Considering the escalating scenario which has put lives and properties of the innocent civilians under imminent danger, the Meitei villagers are compelled to take up any means to defend themselves from the onslaught of Kuki militants.
