The United Committee Kairang, Khomidok, Khabeisoi and the All Manipur Meitei Pangal Club’s Organisation (AMMPCO) on Friday strongly condemned the brutal assault on two Muslims in Moreh allegedly by Kukis for providing stones for construction of Manipur Commando barrack at border town Moreh.
President of the committee, FM Manawar Ali told the media at the community hall of Kairang in Imphal East on Friday that the committee was formed with a motto ‘Peace, Integrity and development’ and has been working for the welfare of the society.
He informed that on Thursday, two Muslims were brutally assaulted at Moreh reportedly by Kuki volunteers. It would be better if the Kuki volunteers take prior information from the Muslim CSOs before they were brutally assaulted, he added.
He appealed to all the communities to cooperate with each other as any misunderstanding among the communities could create further tension in the state.
He further appealed to the state government to take stringent action against those Kuki volunteers who are involved while assaulting the two muslims.

Spokesperson of the committee, Md Kasim Ali said with the coming of Ramzan month from March 12, he appealed to all the Muslims to avoid using intoxicants, drugs and others including gambling.
The committee has been supporting the state government’s initiatives ‘War on Drugs’ and if any individuals among the community are found disobeying the appeal, stringent action will be taken by the committee in consultation with the community leaders, he added.
Meanwhile, AMMPCO president Hayatur Rahaman Yumkhaibam alias Akuba told media at its head office located at Hatta, Imphal East that AMMPCO will assume the incident was conducted not by Kuki volunteers but by armed Kuki militants.
He said the two individuals were just doing their duties as drivers and appealed not to repeat similar incidents in the near future.
AMMPCO demanded proper investigation in connection with the incident and that the culprits should be booked immediately. The organisation is ready to launch various forms of agitation if the government failed to book the culprits involved in the incident, he added.
In the present crisis, Meitei Pangal and Naga have been trying to bring peace; however, both the communities are victimised sometimes, said Hayatur.
He said one should take initiative to bring peace as it will be hard to bring back normalcy by the government alone.
Government should take necessary steps to stop pointing guns at innocent people and AMMPCO will be supporting if the government takes the said initiatives, said Hayatur.
