Manipur: List of hailstorm affected victims released

A devastating hailstorm hit Imphal, Manipur on May 5 which led to a large-scale damage to the properties, including houses.

The Manipur government on Wednesday released the draft list of affected persons of Imphal West district due to heavy rain accompanied with hailstorm on Sunday which led to a large-scale damage to the properties, including houses.

As per the latest notice issued by Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West, Th Kirankumar, a total of 15,749 applications were received as of 5 pm of Tuesday.

It listed the revenue circle-wise numbers noting that altogether 1715 forms from Central 1 and 998 from Central 2 under Lamphel Sub-division; 900 from Wangoi, 653 from Mayang Imphal, 2680 from Lilong Chajing and 2758 from Hiyangthang under Wangoi Subdivision; 781 from Patsoi and 3241 from Konthoujam under Patsoi Sub-Division and 94 from Sekmai, 352 from Lamsang and 1577 from Salam under Lamsang Sub-Division were received.

It mentioned that the revenue circle-wise list of affected head of the family members is notified as a draft list of affected persons due to heavy rain accompanied with hailstorm on Sunday for verification by the general public of Imphal west district as annexure 1-11.

Claims and objections, if any (for left out case, duplicity, etc), may be filed to the concerned Sub Divisional Officers/Sub Deputy Collector by 4 pm of Friday, it stated. It added that physical verification of each and every application will take place and based on the verification, decision for amount of relief as per Rules extant shall be decided and the list shall not be considered as the list of beneficiaries.

The notice is issued in pursuance of the Office vide notice dated May 5 informing all the general public in Imphal West particularly the affected persons due to heavy ram along with hailstorm which occurred on Sunday to submit damage report in the form of application along with geo-tagged photograph to the concerned SOO/SDC Office of their concerned jurisdiction.
