The Manipur Keithel Nupi Marup (MKNM) strongly appealed to the authorities concerned to look into the price hike at shops during unfortunate times in the state.
The MKNM in a release on Saturday warned the authorities concerned that they will take up steps to control the price hike in the shops if the authorities concerned failed to do the needful.
It also condemned the businessmen of the state for the price hike during the prevailing unfortunate clash between two communities in the state which broke out on May 3.
Businessmen of the state should stop playing with the prices of food and essential items in times of need, it mentioned. It also warned the city police personnels on duty at Khwairamband Bazar to stop guarding the shops which have been increasing the prices.
