Manipur High Court celebrates Constitution Day 2022

Certificates of Appreciation were distributed to lawyers who have practiced at the Bar for more than 40 years on Constitution Day 2022

Manipur High Court on Saturday celebrated the Constitution Day 2022 on Saturday at the Auditorium of the High Court.

The celebration was held in association with the Bar Council of Manipur, the High Court Bar Association of Manipur, the All-Manipur Bar Association, the Manipur State Legal Services Authority, the High Court Legal Services Committee, and the Manipur Judicial Academy.

The celebration was attended by director, Manipur Judicial Academy Justice Kh Nobin Singh; president, High Court Bar Association of Manipur Ibotombi Namoijam, and vice president, All Manipur Bar Association Nambam Manikanta Singh.

The function was attended by officials of the Bar Council of Manipur, members of the Bar Associations, Judicial Officers, officials of the Legal Services Authorities, Officers of the Registry of the High Court, and officials of the Manipur Judicial Academy.

A new feature introduced this time was the distribution of ‘Certificates of Appreciation' in recognition of their lifelong services to lawyers who have practiced at the Bar for more than 40 years.

Justice Nobin explained in his speech that the list prepared is not exhaustive and owing to the difficulty in gathering all relevant information, only 49 names could be verified on this occasion. He also stressed the importance of educating all the citizens on the ideals of the constitution as well as about the laws governing them in order to make the celebration truly meaningful.
