Manipur: AR recovers IEDs from Kuki militant near Moreh

Kuki militants set ablaze a Tata Truck dumper which they had hijacked from two Muslims on Thursday.

Security forces recovered two IEDs from one individual while Kuki militants set ablaze a Tata Truck dumper which they had hijacked from two Muslims on Thursday.

The IEDs were recovered from one individual by a team of 5th Assam Rifles while carrying out frisking and checking at Chikkim village till Bypass road near Moreh college along NH 102 Imphal Moreh Road, 3 km from Moreh Police station on Friday at around 8.30 am.

The team stopped a suspicious man for checking and found the two IEDs in his bag and also recovered a battery which will be used in exploding the bombs. The arrested person is Sholen Haokip @ Lelin (40), son of Helmang Haokip of Moreh Mission Veng.

The AR team handed over the arrested person to Moreh Police station and a case has also been registered by Moreh PS.

Meanwhile, the Tata truck dumper hijacked from two Meitei Pangals for helping the state forces commandos have also been burned down by the Kuki militants, reports said.
