An active cadre of KNF(N) (non-SoO group) has been arrested from Selbuhjang village in Churachandpur district, Manipur, sources said.
The sources said the arrested cadre identified himself as Seiminlal Dimngel @ Lalboi @ Michael (35), son of Paokhohao Dimngel of Saijang village, Saikul Sub-Division in Kangpokpi district.
According to Churachandpur police, based on specific information regarding the presence of one KNF(N) cadre in Selbuhjang village, Churachandpur, with an intent to carry out prejudicial activities, a team of police from Sangaikot PS led by SI T Jangkholal Haokip conducted search operations on Saturday evening.
Police said that after two hours of search, one suspected person was detained and on enquiry, the individual identified himself as Seiminlal Dimngel @ Lalboi @ Michael (35), son of Paokhohao Dimngel of Saijang village, Saikul sub-division, Kangpokpi district.

The individual disclosed that he is an active member of KNF(N), a non-SoO group, which he joined in the month of July, 2022 along with 18 others through one Henkholen Kipgen @ James Kipgen, S/S C-in-C of KNF (N). He further disclosed that he was involved in serving demand letters to businessmen and shop owners in the Saikul area.
Based on his statement, Seiminlal Dimngel was arrested on Saturday at 7:30 pm by observing formalities. The arrested person was handed over to the OC-CCP PS for further necessary action. A case under FIR No.25(2)2023 CCP-PS u/s 400/384 IPC has been registered for investigation.
The arrested person was produced before the residential Court of CJM/CCP at Imphal and remanded to police custody till 2/3/2023.
