Arrested Myanmarese national dies in Imphal

A Myanmarese national, who was kept at the Foreigner Detention Centre located near Sajiwa Jail in Imphal East, was found dead on Sunday, sources said.

The police said the deceased Myanmar national was identified as one Lamkhochon Guite, 32, son of (L) Chunglet Guite.

The deceased was one of the 81 Myanmar nationals who were arrested from H Lhangcham and New Salbung village in Tengnoupal district on January 27.

The SP of Sajiwa Jail said that the cause of death is heart failure while sleeping. The body has been sent for postmortem examination at JNIMS Morgue, following which it will be handed over to relatives in Moreh.
