The escort of MLA Yamthong Haokip who has been undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity hospital, North AOC succumbed to his injuries late Friday at the hospital.
The deceased is identified as Yumnam Sanjit Singh, 38, son of late Y Tomba of Tendongyang Maning Leikai presently staying at Yairipok Top Chingtha, Imphal East. Late Sanjit of 4th IRB is posted as an escort of Yamthong Haokip.
On December, 5 he was evacuated to the hospital after having suffered serious head injuries. Even as the family was informed that Sanjit got hurt in a mishap, they (family) suspected foul play.
The family further claimed that the police station concerned failed to lodge an FIR despite having lodged a complaint.
The aggrieved family members on Saturday met Ningthoujam Geoffrey, special secretary of CMO.
During the meeting the family verbally placed their demand to provide an appropriate government job to the kin of the deceased, ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh, to bear all hospital expenses and video coverage of the post mortem.
