A man was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside a building near Jalal Provision of Thangal Bazaar in Imphal West under City Police Station on Thursday.
According to police sources, the victim was identified as Raj Chawariya, 31, son of Saraswati Chawariya from Hariyama Sonapat and currently staying at Thangal Bazaar.
Sources said that Raj had divorced his wife six years ago and it is suspected that he allegedly committed suicide owing to the divorce.
A case regarding the incident had been filed by the City Police Station. After a post mortem was conducted at RIMS Mortuary and the body was handed over to the family, police said.
