A man was found dead at a paddy field located opposite Heingangkhong Oil Pump under Heingang Police Station under Imphal East early Wednesday, sources said.
The deceased has been identified as one Heikrujam Sanjitraj, 23, son of H Jiten from Uyumpok Awang Leikai in Imphal East, according to police.

Police reported that the family members of the deceased came and took away the body before commencing legal formalities around 10.20 am. It is suspected that the youth may have died of a drug overdose.
Meanwhile, at RIMS Mortuary, there are as many as three bodies that are yet to be identified.
