The DC Imphal West has halted the post mortem of the body of a man, who died on November 24, as information about his family or relatives were unavailable, sources said.

Roshan was employed as a teacher at a private school where Ph Safi Ulam Ahamad was also working as the head master, the police said.

Except for the claim that he was from Kolkata, no other detailed information was reportedly provided to the police.

After complaining of chest discomfort, Roshan was admitted to RIMS, reportedly by Safi Ulam Ahamad’s men on November 23 and he passed away the next day.

Lamphel Police Station has registered a UD case in connection with the incident, after which preparations were made to conduct the post mortem at RIMS mortuary.

However, the DC Imphal West raised concerns, stating that disposing of the body without first ascertaining whether it has any relatives may cause issues, and further issued a directive to trace his address and family members.
