Manipur Shiv Sena president M Tombi on Monday said the demand raised by 10 MLAs for
a "separate administration" should be made outside the state. The party will never compromise on Manipur’s integrity and its territorial boundary, he said.
In a show of support to the government, the Manipur Shiv Sena president said the state government has been taking necessary steps to protect the reserve forest and has no intention to harm any community or groups and the Schedule Tribe Demand Committee, Manipur (STDCM) is trying to restore the status of Meiteis into the scheduled tribe category.
Alleging that some armed miscreants and groups are encouraging the people to cultivate poppy plantation in hill areas and involvement of militants under SoO in the present crisis, he expressed the party's demand to the state government to immediately declare the SoO militants groups as terrorist and to take necessary action against them.
Tombi also said that the paramilitary forces, instead of "harassing the public" in Imphal valley in the name of checking curfew passes, should be deployed at the foothills of the state where some suspected SoO
militants are threatening innocent people.
He appealed to the government to deploy a non-biased security forces at the porous border areas for
protection of the state.
