The Manipur government has relaxed day curfew for both Imphal East and Imphal West districts for 12 hours, from 5 am to 5 pm on Wednesday.
A government notification issued on June 6, stated that the curfew has been relaxed in the two valley districts to enable the general public to buy essential items, including food and medicienes.
All persons belonging to essential services such as the Health, PHED, Municipal officials, power staff, media personneland functioning of courts shall be exempted from further imposition of curfew, it added.
However, the ban on internet services across the entire state remained till June 10.
Meanwhile, 500 more BSF personnel landed in Imphal today as area domination operation by the security forces in villages on the outskirts of Imphal valley is underway following attacks by militants.
