Convenor of All India Trinamool Congress Th Inaocha on Friday pointed fingers at the BJP government in the Centre for the cause of the ethnic conflict in Manipur adding that it was supported by the state government.

During a press conference conducted by INDIA Bloc at Congress Bhawan on Friday, Th Inaocha said that conflict has completed a year and there is no solution. If the crisis continues, there is a possibility of civil war in the state for which the state government should take responsibility, he added.

He said that INDIA Bloc has been suggesting an all-political party dialogue but the government has not listened. Moreover, INDIA Bloc had asked the state government to arrange a meeting of all political parties, representatives of all communities and civil society organisations to discuss the solution of the crisis in Manipur, he said.

“If the government fails to solve the crisis or conflict in the state at the earliest, then the youths of the state will not be in a position to stand up”, Inaocha said.

Convenor of INDIA Bloc, Manipur Ksh Shanta said that the state government does not know the policy to bring people together for dialogue and hence, no step has been taken to find a solution.

He alleged the BJP of being against minorities thus leading to the ethnic-based crisis in Manipur and other parts of the country too.

BJP always pushes people to go against other parties with an intention to get votes during election, said Shanta.

People want a solution to the crisis and we hope the next new government at the Centre will bring a solution, Shanta added.

Working president of MPCC Kh Devbrata said that no one thought the conflict in Manipur would go on for years. Intention of the government is a long year crisis, they don’t want to solve it soon. If the government wants, there is no one to go against the government, he added.

It says that illegal immigrants and narco-terrorists caused the crisis in Manipur then why the identification of illegal immigrants has not started, he questioned.

“We should be very careful if the BJP comes back at the centre” he warned.
