The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) also commemorated the year-long completion of the Manipur crisis under the banner ‘Numit 356 ni chupna Chin kuki Narco Terrorist na Manipur da landarakpa Numit’ (365 days of Chin Kuki Narco Terrorists’ aggression in Manipur) at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen on Friday.

On the occasion, COCOMI coordinator Somorendro stated that the people of Manipur were the scapegoats in the Central government’s geopolitical drama.

There are vested interests involved in this conflict, he added. He stated that the fate of Manipuris would be detrimental if the people are not cautious. He questioned why the authorities are not resolving the conflict even after a year. He stated that their disregard in resolving the crisis hinted at vested motives and maintained the state would disintegrate if the people did not tread carefully.

Several other resource persons also gave their insights during the observation on the prospects of the indigenous Manipuris in light of the conflict. Attendees paid floral tributes to the brave souls who sacrificed their lives in the conflict during the observation.

TANFO president Turner Raihing, United Meitei Pangal Committee, Manipur advisor Islam Makakcha among others attended the commemoration.
