Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Monday visited the construction work of the Kangla Nongpok Thong (Bridge) and highlighted the strong cultural and spiritual significance of the bridge. He expressed the hope that the opening of the sacred bridge would be a blessing to all in Manipur.
"Inspected the ongoing construction of Kangla Nongpok Thong (Bridge) which is being developed just like the one which was built by our ancestors. I strongly believe that this bridge has a strong cultural as well as spiritual significance with regards to Manipur," Biren tweeted on Monday.
In another Twitter post, the chief minister said the bridge will be inaugurated soon.
"With the opening of this sacred bridge, may everyone in Manipur be blessed with good health, peace and prosperity. We will be inaugurating this bridge very soon," Biren tweeted on Monday.
The chief minister has been conducting an inspection spree of the development works of tourist attractions in the state.
On Sunday, Biren visited the ongoing construction site of 120 feet tall statue of 'Sagol Kangjei' (Polo) player riding a Pony' at Marjing Hills in Imphal East and said he planned to inaugurate it at the earliest. After the visit, the chief minister said that it is a matter of pride that the game of Polo was given by Manipur to the World.
"...This site will play a key role in further promoting Polo as well as our beautiful state," Biren tweeted on Sunday.
