Abducted truck driver released

The missing truck (Tata-MN01-8796) carrying 360 Taj cement bags was found at a spot located 15 km away from Awang Khul, Tamenglong district on Monday.

The driver who went missing along with a truck within Irang Bridge and Noney Bazar area in Tamenglong district on Sunday was reportedly released by his abductors on Tuesday.

Truck driver, Laimayum Romeo Sharma, son of  Angousana, hailed from Moirang Ngangkha Leikai in Bishnupur district.

According to Noney Police, they were aware of his release but had no information about who his abductors were or from where he was abducted since Romeo himself had not filed any report.

The missing truck (Tata-MN01-8796) carrying 360 Taj cement bags was found at a spot located 15 km away from Awang Khul, Tamenglong district on Monday.  It was retrieved by Noney Police along with an escort team of 44-AR from the spot.
