Manipur police have arrested 11 people for theft committed in the aftermath of the communal clash from victims' houses in different areas of the state and recovered 80 arms snatched during the violence, from different locations.
Imphal East district police arrested two persons for theft from residential houses at Checkon area after the communal clash on Wednesday.

The arrested persons have been identified as one Md Basir, 33, son of late Md Yunus of Hafiz Hatta, and Md Kadir, 50, son of late Md Achou of Yairipok Tulihal presently staying at Hafiz Hatta, Imphal East.
Police reported that they were arrested in connection with an FIR registered at the Porompat Police Station. The arrested persons were remanded for 15 days in judicial custody.
Meanwhile, district police have also recovered 80 arms that were snatched during the communal clash in the last 24 hours from different places.

Besides, a press note issued and signed by the superintendent of police, Imphal West, mentioned that on Monday, a total of 6 FIRs were registered at Lamphel Police Station in connection with theft/robbing/stealing of items like vehicles, camera, laptop and other household items from violence-hit Langol and Kwakeithel area by taking advantage of the prevailing law and order situation.
In connection with the FIR cases, the district police arrested nine persons along with the recovery of various stolen items.

The arrested persons along with the recovered items were produced before the CJM, Imphal West on Tuesday and were remanded in judicial custody the same day.
District police appealed to those persons who are hiding or receiving the stolen items to come out and hand over the items at the earliest. They said house-to-house search operations will be launched soon and those persons with the stolen items will be taken action as per law.
It is also appealed to all the public not to indulge in any kind of such criminal activities, the police added.
