Students’ bodies of Jiribam district on Tuesday demanded immediate action from the authorities concerned in regard to the shortage of faculties, including the principal and principal in-charge of the Borobekra Higher Secondary School.
In a meeting held with DESAM Jiribam District Council president Laishram Bilaks, KSA Jiribam District Council president Ch Achou Singh, MSF Jiribam District Committee president A Ratan Singh and AMSU Jiribam District Committee executive member S Samarjit Singh, the student bodies representatives stated that the Borobekra Higher Secondary School has become disorderly due to the shortage of necessary faculty.
They alleged some of the respective staff of the school for lack of punctuality and demanded for the immediate intervention of the authority. They further alleged the authorities concerned of neglecting their responsibilities. The students’ bodies had been appealing for the appointment of the necessary staff for the school, they said.
Meanwhile, a release issued by Kangleipak Students’ Association (KSA) Jiribam Branch general secretary K Somorjit Singh stated that KSA will commence inspection drives at various schools and relevant education departments. KSO will take strong actions against any staff who are neglecting their duties, it added.
It can be recalled that Jiri Development Organisation (JDO) Barak Circle had cautioned that the Borobekra Higher Secondary School will be shut down if the authorities concerned do not provide the necessary facilities and repair the deteriorated conditions of the school by August 30.
