In the effort to provide quality education to children, there's a need to encourage children to take up co-curricular activities along with formal education for their holistic development, MLA RK Imo said in Imphal on Saturday.
Imo was speaking as chief guest at an event at UNACCO School located at Khongman in Imphal East on Saturday. He said that there are numerous schools in Manipur but only a few provide quality education,
While stressing on quality education, the MLA said, “Confining the students inside the four walls and giving lectures cannot be called quality education”.
Although education is essential, one must not force education or mount pressure on children, he said, adding that “the role of the teachers is also important as they are the one who are guiding the backbone of a society”.
The UNACCO School function - Investiture of Primary School Prefects’ Council 2022-23 was presided over by school chairman N Irabanta Singh, while UNACCO School director Arup K Mukhopadhyay, school principal P Surachandra and CEO L Khogen attended as guests of honour.
