With the motive to provide a platform to showcase the talents of the visual arts students, the Department of Visual Arts of the Manipur University of Culture on Monday held its 1st Annual Art Exhibition 2022 at Imphal Art College in Imphal East.
As many as 78 arts works by 30 students from the departments of painting, sculpture, graphic and applied Arts were displayed during the exhibition. The painting of Konsha Khul by Keithellakpam Sailex (BVA six semester) was conferred the Overall Best Outstanding Work by the Jury Members.
Speaking on the occasion, Visual Art MUC HoD A Hemanta said that such exhibition will make a good effort in the pursuance of the student’s careers with a perfect and humble destination.

Stating that all the art works in the exhibition shows good virtuosity, creative talents and sincerity of the students, he said the students deserve praise for all their hard work and for their good manners and discipline.
All these upcoming artists will contribute a good share in the progress of art and cultural development of the state and for the country, he said, adding that the exhibition will remain a landmark at the time as it is the first Annual Art Exhibition of MUC.
MUC vice-chancellor Prof Paonam Gunindro; Imphal Arts College chairman Y Ibochouba; MUC registrar L Radhakanta and deputy registrar L Surjit among others attended the event.
