India's daily COVID-19 deaths drop to four

According to the updated data released at 8 am Sunday by the Union Health Ministry, the country's COVID-19 confirmed caseload rose to 4,46,42,742 with the reports of 1994 new cases, while the death toll reached 5,28,961.

India on Sunday reported a drop in daily COVID-19 death tally to four. With it, the viral disease has claimed so far 5,28,961 lives across the country. The cumulative active cases stood at 23,432. It accounted for 0.05 per cent of the country's total positive cases, official sources said.

According to the updated data released at 8 am Sunday by the Union Health Ministry, the country's COVID-19 confirmed caseload rose to 4,46,42,742 with the reports of 1994 new cases.

India's COVID-19 total recoveries reached 4,40,90,349 with 2,601 more patients having recovered, and the recovery rate recorded was 98.76 per cent.

Consequently, the weekly positivity Rate presently is 0.99 per cent, while the daily positivity rate is 1.24 per cent.

Meanwhile, India has so far conducted 89,99,97,806 cumulative tests and the COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 219.55 crore (2,19,55,98,943) as per provisional reports till 7 am Sunday (October 23). And, over 4.12 Cr first dose vaccines have been administered to children in the age group 12-14 years.
