India's COVID-19 active caseload drops to 18,84,937, but daily death toll mounts to 893

The number of total recoveries reached 3,87,13,494, as 3,52,784 more patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate currently is 94.21 per cent, as per the new update.

India recorded as many as 2,34,281 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the confirmed caseload to 4,10,92,522, while the death toll rose to 4,94,091 as the disease claimed as many as 893 lives in the last 24 hours, according to the latest update by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Sunday.

ith the steady fall in the single-day positive cases, COVID-19 active caseload dropped to 18,84,937. Consequently, the active cases stood at 4.59 per cent and the daily positivity rate currently is 14.50 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate stood at 16.40 per cent.

So far, 72.73 crore total tests have been conducted across the country as 16,15,993 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.

In view of the increasing spread of COVID-19 in several parts of India, the pace of COVID-19 vaccination drive has been increased. Following it, as many as 165.70 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
