Manipur reports 425 new COVID-19 positive cases, one death

Manipur's COVID-19 confirmed tally reached 1,32,581, while the death toll mounted to 2,038 with one new fatality,

Manipur on Saturday recorded 425 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's confirmed tally to 1,32,581 while the death toll mounted to 2,038 with one new fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 16.3 per cent.

The single COVID-19 fatality recorded on Saturday is from Imphal East. The deceased had co-morbidities and was fully vaccinated, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.

As per the release, 191 new COVID-19 cases were reported from Imphal West, another 100 cases from Imphal East, 19 from Bishnupur, 11 each from Chandel and Kakching, 32 from Churachandpur, 10 from Tamenglong, 29 from Thoubal, six from Ukhrul, five from Kangpoki, four from Senapati, three from Tengoupal and two each from Jiribam and Kamjong.

The state also recorded 294 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,26,609. The recovery rate is 95.50 per cent. Manipur now has 3,934 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 412 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 91 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 24,79,919 (first dose: 14,13,057 second dose: 10,42,114 precautionary dose: 24,748). 

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 58.35 per cent and for the second dose is 44.52 per cent, it mentioned.
